As we come into the winter season the options for windy resorts become much fewer. So where is the wind this winter:
If you dont want to travel long haul then the best conditions are in Southern Egypt (Soma Bay and Marsa Alam) and the Cape Verde Island of Sal.
Looking a little further a field Dakhla (southern Morocco) is amazing but with a stop over each end in Casablanca it’s best for a 10 – 14 day break. The Caribbean resorts (Margarita being the best for early winter) and Kenya resorts are also good areas to head this winter.

Just back from an amazing 2 weeks in Dakhla, Morocco on the edge of the Western Sahara. I have never been anywhere with so much consistent wind every day varying between 20 – 40 knots.. Mostly 25 knots plus! My 7m Flexifoil Atom certainly got its time on the water and there were a lot of jealous guys out there when it was handling 40 knots no problem..
There has been much talk this year about the main lagoon in Ras Sudr being closed (at the Green Hotel). We can confirm that PLANET’s Kitesurf centre is now the ONLY Kitesurf centre operating on this lagoon and now has exclusive use of this area. Therefore please rest assured that all PLANET client have full access to this super flat water lagoon.
In additional to this we now offer a New Bus Shuttle Service between the Creative Green Hotel and the Ramada Hotel which is going backwards and forwards several times a day!
