GETTING THERE

Charter flights run from Gatwick and most regional airports to Malaga many times a day. This gives the opportunity for varied duration holidays from 1 day to 1 month. Transfer time is less than 2 hrs by hire car. Gibraltar is closer and has a daily scheduled service. The drive is only 30 mins. The flight time to Malaga or Gibraltar is about 3 hours.

SKYRIDERS

The center at Rancho Valdevaqueros in Tarifa is right on the large sandy beach of Casa de Porro (Las Dunas) where the wind is often strongest. Launching is straight-forward in both levante and poniente winds, and the protected bay provides optimum conditions for all kitesurfing skill levels. The shorebreak can be stronger in autumn if the wind is onshore. It is only a short walk from Hotel 100% Fun and is stocked with the latest Mistral boards and North rigs. The centre closes from November to March.

Here you will find an excellent range of two line kites for beginners along with the Skyriders directional learner board. For the more advanced they also have a good selection of the latest North kites and board for all levels of kitesurfing expertise.

Prices do not include kit insurance that can normally be arranged locally at approx 35 euros. Most kitesurf schools will only rent equipement if you are iko level iii or equivelant (riding up wind). Some school will rent to level ii kitesurfers but may charge a 30% supplement for 'supervised rental.' Please note that prior to your rental you should be able to demonstrate confident upwind ability and self rescue. Should you not be able to stay upwind but can demonstrate safe kite work and self rescue technique there is a 30% surcharge for 'supervised' rental.
