GETTING THERE

Charter flights run from Gatwick and most regional airports, principally on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Transfer time is 80 mins. To get the most out of a trip to Fuerteventura it is a good idea to hire a car. We can arrange this for collection and drop off at the airport. It costs from £100 per week.

LOBOS

For a Morning away from Fuerteventura main island, you can happily catch the 15 minute long ferry over to Lobos, the island that lays opposite Corralejo and flag beach. Here you can escape the crowds if you are early enough and find yourself a nice private bay or beach. The Island boasts a world famous wave, and on the right day you can be treated to an awesome display of surfing and a view of a near perfect wave.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mountain bikes are easily available in Corralejo, and very cheap to hire. They can be used to explore the Islands North track that runs from Corralejo right around to Cotillo, via many great beaches, and sailing spots. They can also be used as a means of getting around town safely on the cycle paths provided.

LANZAROTE

Lanzarote is in view from Corralejo and easily reached by the ferry that runs between the two, its a short 30 minute journey. You can jump on a tour in Corralejo, or hire a car and take it over with you. Once there, you can explore the islands volcanoes, beaches and resorts, or even sail a different spot. Costa Teguise is recommended, the location of the PWA world tour, for both Super X and Freestyle.

JEEP SAFARIS

The Rough and tumble way to see the islands volcanic landscape, book onto one of the organised tours and relax ( or hold on) as one of the experienced drivers takes control and does all the work. You'll visit cotillos blue lagoons and then venture inland to the places only the locals know how to get to. Alternatively hire yourself a jeep from one of the many hire companies and do some first hand off road driving.

GOLF

The Golf course in Fuerteventura is situated in Caletta de Fuste, half way up the island, and only 45 mins away from either Corralejo or Sotavento. The course is an 18 hole, par 70 of 6049 meters from the men's championship tees, with two loops of nine holes starting and finishing at the clubhouse. There are three large lakes connected by a stream, all of which come into play. There are another four Fuerteventura golf courses being planned or constructed as we type - Pajara, Jandia, Cotillo and Puerto del Rosario

SURFING

Before the wind kicks in mid afternoon, why not learn to surf, or brush up on your skills. In the winter Corralejo is a surfers mecca, with countless number of surf spots on the North trackt. However the summer produces some great conditions as well to suit all abilities, classes or guided tours are easily arranged through Flag Beach and no one knows the surf spots better or alternatively one of the local surf school.
