Planet are proud to announce the unveiling of the newest kitesurf resort in Egypt in the area of Nabq, Sharm El Sheikh - exclusive to Planet Kitesurf. The Nabq area is located on the North side of Sharm El Sheikh, 10 minutes from the Airport, on the same coast line as Dahab, famous for its constant winds.
Sharm offers the perfect combination of high quality hotels right on site, huge amount of resort facilities (restaurants, bars and clubs) a short taxi ride away and several flight per week from many UK departure points. This is a perfect choice for all levels of kitesurfers traveling alone or with non-kiting partners.
The main bay in front of the centre offer flat shallow water, perfect for beginners and improvers or the more advanced riders looking for super easy conditions to practice new tricks.
WAVE SPOT A short distance to the North of the centre, accessible from land or by riding upwind is a bay with waves rolling in to a shore break. Maybe not a real wave spot, but very different from what you are used to in Egypt, and a nice playground for the advanced rider.
The wind direction is normally cross to cross on and the wind is very smooth.
As with most Egyptian resorts the wind is very reliable throughout the whole year, with strongest conditions from March to November.

There is no windsurfing in the Sharm area but it is easy to take day trip to Dahab, 1 hour away, which is a super windsurf spot.
Approximately 20 minutes by taxi away is the sprawling resort of Sharm El Sheikh with plenty of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
"Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our trip to Nabq last week.
The experience was made all the better by the superb service offerred by Kev and Di at Colona Watersports who were great hosts. The centre has everything you could possibly need and was just a short stroll from our Hotel. I can honestly say that if you set out to build a beginners and improvers location you could not improve on their set up. The wind started a little early so no lie-ins were permitted but then dropped off around lunchtime. This had the beneficial effect of a guaranteed morning session followed by linking up with the rest of the family for a late lunch and the remainder of the afternoon. This is one way to keep everybody happy!
A couple of additional points worth mentioning are the centre's very friendly caddys who always had a smile on their faces and were very attentive. When were packing up to go home they rolled up our kites for us and everything had been washed clean.
5 Stars to both our Hotel (5* Mirabel Beach) and Colona so better this if you can!"
